Ingredients

Apple Filling:

Apple Crisp Topping:

  • 1 cup unsalted raw walnuts chopped
  • 1/2 cup unsalted raw pecans chopped
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter OR coconut oil

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9" square baking dish with non stick spray. Slice your apples.
  • Place the sliced apples in a large bowl. Add the lemon juice, xanthan gum, cinnamon and nutmeg, mix to combine. Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a medium mixing bowl, make your topping by mixing everything together until well combined.
  • Once the apples have baked for 20 minutes, carefully give them a quick stir and spread them evenly again in your pan. Pour your topping mixture evenly over your apple filling. Return the oven and bake for 20-25 more minutes, until the filling is bubbling around the edges and the top is nice and golden.
  • Let the crisp rest for 10-15 minutes before serving. Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired. Enjoy!
