If you don’t already know, my name is Samantha – but everyone calls me Sam. I am so glad you are here! I started this blog after I discovered my passion for creating healthy desserts. On this blog you will find recipes for desserts that are gluten free, sugar free, plus keto & paleo friendly. I figured why not share my recipes and my life, not only to share with the world but for myself to come back to in 10 or 20 years and see what I was thinking and doing at the time.
Hi, I’m Sam!
A little bit about me, I currently live with my bestfriend and boyfriend of over 14 years – we are high school sweethearts. I know, adorable right? I work in healthcare, more specifically the dental field and my boyfriend works in construction as a master electrician. I am a total animal lover and together we have 2 fur babies, our dog, Bo, and our cat, Nala. They are the absolute lights of our lives! They are both rescues, Bo, is an 80 pound German Shepherd (we think) mix, and Nala is a black and white tuxedo cat. Don’t be afraid to ask for photos of those two, I have a TON and I love when people ask to see them!
I started my interest in healthy baking when I got my personal trainers certificate and took nutrition courses, after learning a ton more about nutrition and our bodies I knew I still wanted to eat ALL the sweets, but without ALL the sugar and processed ingredients – there must be a way, right?! Well, that is where the sugar free baking came in. Did you know that the American Heart Association recommends that we only have 25 grams of added sugar per day? Have you read nutrition labels? Yikes! Then I decided, what about using all (or mostly) whole, natural, unprocessed ingredients? Using these ingredients lead me to gluten free baking, which in turn, made a lot of my recipes keto friendly as well.
