To make a this latte, start by preparing a strong chai tea concentrate using your preferred chai blend. Then, froth and heat up some milk of your choice. Next, in a mug, whisk together a teaspoon or two of matcha powder with a small amount of hot water to create a smooth paste. Gradually pour the chai tea concentrate into the matcha paste, stirring well to combine. Finally, pour the frothed milk into the mug, gently incorporating it with the matcha-chai mixture.

INGREDIENTS YOU NEED

  • 1/4 cup hot water plus a little more for steeping your tea
  • 1 tsp matcha powder
  • 1 1/4 cup milk of choice I used oat milk
  • 2 tsp sugar or sweetener of choice or to taste
  • 1 – 2 chai tea bags

Instructions To Make Matcha Chai

  1. Heat about 1/4 cup of water and place your chai tea bags in to steep for about 1 minute.
  2. Add your matcha powder to your serving mug and then add in your steeped chai tea. Carefully pour ¼ cup of boiling water over and whisk until frothy and the matcha powder is dissolved.
  3. Warm your milk using the microwave or on the stove and then add your sweetener. Don’t let it boil! Once hot, froth using an electric frother.
  4. Pour your frothy milk over the matcha and chai mix in your mug. Sprinkle with more spices and serve right away while still warm. Can also enjoy cold over ice if preferred. Enjoy!
